I’M NEW

What Should I expect?

One of the first things you will notice when attending a service at The Connection is that we are a friendly welcoming group. You will be greeted when you arrive, and you will be greeted again and again by members of the church. We like to say coming to church is like attending a family reunion. You will find a table where we provide a selection of gourmet coffees from Coffee Connection for you to enjoy. The service will begin with passionate worship and will move to practical messages that may include video clips, illustrated sermons, or even an encouragement for those in attendance to answer questions or make comments. Our goal in the service is to give you an opportunity to experience God in a way that you can understand and apply to your life. We want to partner with you on your spiritual journey, no matter where you are on your journey today.

Who We Are.

The Connection is a Foursquare Church located in Texas City, Texas. We began the church with the belief that people deserve a place where they can connect with others and be encouraged in their relationship with Jesus Christ. It is a place where people can feel safe, be connected, and can grow spiritually. You might describe us as non-traditional in our practices, yet we are very traditional in our Biblical beliefs. We meet in a coffee shop atmosphere where we strive to offer a ministry that is practical and beneficial for your daily life. We do not want to make church about a building, about the personality of any individual or leader, but about Christ Jesus. Our desire is that we would be a group of people who want to seek and discover answers about Jesus Christ. To make connections with others who are on a similar spiritual journey.

PASTORS TIM AND MARGIE FRANKLIN

I serve as the Lead Pastor of The Connection Church. Which for me, simply means I have the privilege of serving people. Helping people discover the gifts God has made available for them. To bring Gods’ hope, growth, and transformation into their lives. My journey to this role has come through a diverse background of life experiences. I have been an operations superintendent in the petrochemical industry, a volunteer fire chief, associate pastor, and administrator of a Christian school. I believe God has used these life experiences to prepare me to be able to relate to people, and the issues they face in life.
I am married to Margie, my high school sweetheart. We met as teens while volunteering at a summer program for children. I’ll never forget the day I saw her walk in the door for the first time. I thought she was the cutest girl I had ever seen, and I knew I wanted to get to know her. We married while in college, and I have had the privilege of walking side by side with her through many adventures and challenges that we have faced in our lives together.
I have a verse in the Bible I consider a life verse, and that I have strived to use as a guideline in my life. It is found in:
Philippians 2:3-5 ESV, “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his interests but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.”
